2019-2020 Albert Yanni Scholarship Application.  This document is attached and can also be found on the CTE Website under the Student Honors and Scholarships.   Please note that this is an updated form and there is now a section titled “Reasons for Disqualification”.

The Barron Prize honors outstanding young leaders the ages of 8 and 18 who have had a significant positive impact on people, their communities, and the environment. Each year, up to twenty winners each receive $10,000 to support their service work or higher education.

In the spirit of the #KeepCraftAlive movement, applicants should celebrate the value and meaning of true craftsmanship in their trades and plan to continue their educations in community colleges, undergraduate programs or industry certification curricula. Fine Homebuilding will award the scholarships to students in fields such as architectural drafting, carpentry, cabinetmaking, electrical and residential wiring, HVACR, masonry, woodworking and plumbing for the 2018-19 academic year.

Selections will be based on completion of an application and a 300-word essay showing applicants’ passion for their craft, along with a letter of support from a teacher, administrator, SkillsUSA advisor or educational/professional mentor.

Apply now to our 2018 Scholarship, which will be in the amount of $1,000.00 USD to be paid toward the educational certification/degree program of your choice. 

To apply for the ServiceScape Scholarship, all scholarship applicants should fill out the application form and submit a 300 word essay on this topic.

The EQT Students of Excellence scholarship program is a nomination-based activity for West Virginia seniors only and designed to honor students who are dedicated to their schools and their communities.

  • To be eligible, students must be West Virginia high school seniors enrolled in a public, private or home school setting, in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

  • Nominations must be completed in their entirety or they will not be considered. 

  • Applications may be either submitted by the students, or a third party.

  • A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student from each of West Virginia’s 55 counties. Six high school seniors will be eligible for renewable scholarships of up to $18,000 per year (based on meeting criteria) for up to four years of higher education.

 

The recipients of the scholarships need not have four-year college degrees as their goals – recipients may have aspirations of entering technical or trade schools or enrolling in a two- or four-year institutions of higher learning.
